News Releases

Husch Blackwell has been named one of 100lawfirms.com’s Top 100 Law Firms with Sports Practices.

The firm’s Sports Facility Planning, Development & Use team structures, negotiates and documents professional sports facility deals for clients across the United States. Its experience spans MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS and NFL venues, as well as USL and Minor League Baseball (MiLB) matters.

Practice leaders Kevin Kelley and Andrea Austin are currently advising the City of Anaheim in the sale of Angel Stadium to an owner affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels and are advising MiLB teams and MiLB host cities on issues related to MLB’s new framework agreements.

“When fans are sitting in seats to cheer on their home team and communities feel that vitality, we know we’re doing our jobs well,” said Austin, a partner in the firm’s Denver office.  “From our team’s NCAA work to major league transactions, we’re fortunate to have the pulse of the industry.”

In addition to its work related to professional sports venues, the firm has attorneys with extensive NCAA regulatory experience, from enforcement actions to names, image and likeness (NIL) and eligibility issues.

100LawFirms.com was launched in January 2021 with the goal of providing the sports industry with a guidebook to the top 100 law firms with an exemplary sports law practice.
